Welcome back, amigos! As always, I am trying to help enhance your marijuana experience. This week, we focus on weed dosage and what to expect from different types THC products, including smoking/eating.
Before we dive in, here are a couple quick disclaimers. First, it is important to point out that each flower and edible is unique. There is still a lot of work to be done in regulating what a dose is. Also, I am subjectively defining a dose as what it takes to make an average smoker comfortably high. In other words, I am referring to the quantity that will make a once-a-week user feel all the effects, but still able to function at a reasonable level. Now lets dive in.
Dose: 1/3 of a blunt or 1/2 of a normal sized joint (0.3-0.5 g).
When to use: when you are on the go and you want to have something disposable – They are also good for sharing.
My recommendation: when you and a friend are going out for a hike bring a J or a blunt and smoke it when you get to a great view
Dose: 1–2 hits
When to use: when you are at a comfortable spot at your house or back porch
My recommendation: Bongs are great because they are significantly less harsh on your lungs. I prefer bongs for an after-work hit, before watching some a movie or basketball.
Dose: 3 hits
When to use: bowls are great to use if you want to smoke from a pipe, but also need it to be transportable/low key
My recommendation: bring a bowl with you if you want to be discrete. You can pack it as much as you want and they are fairly easy to keep hidden (think airline bottle of liquor)
Dose: 3 hits
When to use: when you want to smoke in very public places-think restaurant or crowded city streets.
My recommendation: They are perfect for any situation where you don’t want to scream ‘I am smoking weed’. I like to bring one with me when I go out, so if I need a little pick me up, I can just step outside the bar and take a couple hits and go right back in.
When to use: when you have a whole day free and you want to feel great all day
My recommendation: During a holiday at the beach, take one of these after breakfast and you will feel amazing all day.
